How Lifeguard Helps Families Through the Aging Process

If you’re reading this, it’s likely that you are either experiencing a complicated heath situation with an aging loved one, or could use some additional support yourself.  We are here to help, and we’re confident that our hybrid approach to care can be the solution that brings safety and wellness to your family. We know it can be difficult to admit and accept when help is needed, so we applaud your effort. Below, we’re sharing why Lifeguard might be needed in your family and and what you can expect from our care coordination services.

Caring for a Loved One is Stressful and Unorganized

For every adult child, worrying about and caring for a parent is universal. The circle of life can quickly become complicated with unorganized care and the busy schedules of an adult child’s immediate family. We know how difficult it can be to juggle your own children, careers, and limited precious free time to pursue interests of joy. Then, there can be the added dynamic of family members not being on the same page when it comes to what’s best for mom or dad. On top of all of that, the constant worrying about mom and dad can be overwhelming, stressful, and all-consuming when their current care doesn’t adequately meet their immediate needs. When care is needed, we know it quickly becomes a daunting process to manage, organize and execute.

Confidence in Care

Lifeguard starts with a conversation to best understand the current health status and patient care needs or short-falls. Since we are fluent and experienced in the needs of the aging, we can quickly assess how best to provide support. From there, we will begin to create a comprehensive program that puts the individual in the center of our care model, driven by our certified Lifeguard Registered Nurse. The Lifeguard Nurse is able to align the needs of the patient with our Health Companion, who conducts in-person visits as needed.

We recognize that some patients only require limited in-person support, while others may benefit from daily checkins. Healthcare is not delivered by a playbook, so unique, customzed care plans are essential. If it is necessary, additional physical therapy, pharmacy, and nutritional services will be coordinated via video visits while a Health Companion is on site. For those who are willing and comfortable, Apple products will be provided to ensure a prompt digital connection. Family members are always kept up-to-date, as we know it is critical that you are fully aware of the care is being delivered.

Peace of Mind Starts with a Conversation

At Lifeguard, our goal is to reduce the burden of the management of the patient in order to allow the most enjoyable aspects of quality time with a loved one.  If you’re looking for more information on our care coordinaton services or are interested in setting up a call, contact us today.
